Yes it is her real name. No her parents weren't/aren't hippies. Honey recently joined NOAA (National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) to manage the designation process for the proposed Lake Erie Quadrangle National Marine Sanctuary (think national park on the bed of the lake focused on shipwrecks). Prior to NOAA, Honey worked for the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) were she helped re-vision community planning for the state and assisted in building the new Office of Community Planning. Other professional roles have included Erie County government leadership, nonprofit directorships and entrepreneurial endeavors. Honey and her partner are raising two neurodivergent young boys, so spare time is elusive. However, she loves alliterations, color coded anything, snow and voraciously consuming podcasts.
